Wild Rocket's Laksa Pesto

laksa pesto - 5/10

i was surfing the online straits times one day when i happily came across LIFESTYLE's 100 best dishes. being the disgustingly greedy person that i was, i was utterly fascinated and immediately began flipping through the pages of this report.

escargot -9/10

there weren't that many interesting things to try but something in particular caught my eye. the laksa pesto. i heard about it before and thought it was a pretty interesting combination of what seems to be fusion italiano-singaporean food. so we decided to give it a try.

it's located seedily deep inside the plaza sing area. it was raining and the secluded weekday drive in made for an interesting little adventure, its surroundings being so quiet like a little countryside inn.

we came in and ordered. i had the laksa pesto. ok so here's the anti-climax. it wasn't great. perhaps i just had a bad batch but the pasta was dry, so much so that you could almost taste the basil leaves and the chilli flakes. i guess it could have been all the hype that it became a letdown.

duck confit 8.5/10

the duck confit, however, was pretty good.

the ambience was great too. perhaps another time.
