if i had to pick one dish in this world that i had to eat for the rest of my life, it would be a fight between two things. first, mee pok, and second, buttered prawns from SICC.
when i was in the states i used to DREAM of tasting these babies. big, juicy, succulent prawns coated in a thick, smooth and creamy secret butter sauce. the prawns are always cooked just right, slightly springy and crunchy on the outside and yet meaty on the inside. i swear you have to try this.
the other dishes there that are pretty good include sweet sour pork, coffee flavored ribs (yum) and chinese pepper steak. but then again this place is worth coming to even just for the buttered prawns. they really are that good.
interesting story: there was once where 4 of us were there and we shared 2 medium portions of buttered prawns. and i said its so good i could eat another plate just by myself. my mum dared me to and i said sure. in the end i finished up another medium sized one alone. i felt sick afterwards though.
